I think that the thing I learned most from this project was actually getting a really big appreciation for math teachers and people who study math. I learned a lot about my problems and how to solve them, but actually creating and coming up with the problems was probably the most difficult part of the project. Like I said, it gave me a big respect for people who study math because in order to create the problems, you have to be very familiar with how the problem can be solved. Next time, I would probably add more diversity into my problems, a couple of them were kind of similar and that wasn’t something that I really wanted or was beneficial for my final product. If I were to improve on this, and if I were to change the project slightly, I would include a bit more variety of math concepts maybe from previous high school years? It would add a bit more diversity for the project but it would also render it unusable for the final exam, which was the main purpose of this project.
If I were to exhibit this project again, I would create a better system for helping people solve my problems because the system that I implied wasn't very organized and made it more difficult for the people who wanted to solve my problems.
I feel that with the skills I have learned this year and previous years in math classes, that my greatest strength will be making sure that I am always putting my best effort in and making sure that I am doing my best to stay on top of my work and advocating for myself when I need help. I also think that my greatest weakness will be making sure that I am getting all of the concepts that are taught in the class. That has always been really hard for me, and I think I will have that struggle throughout further math classes.
Semester Exam project
I thought the last project was definitely helpful because it gave us the chance to really get involved in making our final exam and going over most of the topics that we studied earlier in the year. I thought it was really useful and a great way to get all my peers and I involved in really making our final exam.
I will study for the final exam by going over the review problems, and also practicing using Khan Academy on the topics that I feel that I haven't solidified my knowledge in.
I feel that my work so far in Algebra 2 has been hard, I struggle with math and its definitely challenging. But with advocacy and hard work I can improve next semester and finish this semester with a good base knowledge in all the topics we covered.
