How did you become interested in environmental work? 1/2 save the planet mentality and 1/2 understanding it was a good job market.
Do you feel that you are making a long lasting impact on the environment by participating in this line of work? Yes, especially every time we find a leaking tank and dig out dirty soil that shouldn't even be there in the first place. or in the case of the Hubbard Street site, it feels good to be actively treating the soil and groundwater to clean it up.
Do you enjoy your job? absolutely. believe it or not, I wake up looking forward to doing this job.
Whats a memorable experience from working at EGSL or in this line of work? Hitting water lines while drilling. impossible to forget that.
What are some of the requirements for this job? B.S. degree in Environmental Science or Natural Sciences, be able to work a non-traditional schedule (not 9-5 everyday), definitely problem-solving, and (as you know) being able to work outside in any conditions.
Are you satisfied with this career? absolutely. if I wasn't, I wouldn't be doing it. <-------keep this in mind for your whole life Dev. If you're not satisfied where you're at, get to the place where you are satisfied. Seems obvious, i know.
