For the Spanish Skit project, we had to start by doing a little background research on our country which in our case was Honduras. We then had to do some cultural research which in our case, was food, particular restaurants, and special vocabulary we needed. We then went on creating the script, making sure that we were using culturally appropriate vocabulary. Spending a lot of time on refinement, and changing up a few parts of the script and making it exhibition worthy and most importantly beautiful work that we were proud of. Next came the part where we practiced, practiced and practiced some more to make sure we all had our lines memorized and we used actions that allowed the audience to understand really what was happening without really knowing exactly everything we were saying.
From this project I definitely learned a lot about the culture and got a lot of good takeaways from learning how to speak with a group and most importantly in spanish ordering food. It was also great practice memorizing scripts and reciting everything in front of a live community audience. It was also really interesting learning about the honduras culture and the kinds of food they eat and activities they do. This was a fantastic project that I really enjoyed learning about and the knowledge that was gained from it can definitely be used in many different aspects for the future.
